Bahrain’s Urban Planning Authority Launches New E-Approval Service “Takhteet”

The Urban Planning and Development Authority has announced the launch of the “Planning Approval Certification” service on its “Takhteet” digital platform. This initiative aims to enhance urban planning services for citizens and investors in Bahrain.

The new service allows engineering offices and government entities to apply for planning approvals, ensuring site suitability for development based on zoning regulations, land use requirements, and parking standards.

Starting March 25, 2025, users can apply through www.planning.bh, where they can register and track their applications digitally.

Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayyat, CEO of the authority, highlighted that this service will accelerate the approval process, reducing the time needed for construction permits and improving Bahrain’s business environment. He also noted that 182 applications were received in 2024, demonstrating strong demand for the service.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of the Information & eGovernment Authority, emphasized that expanding “Takhteet” services aligns with Bahrain’s digital transformation strategy, enhancing the efficiency and quality of real estate services through advanced digital solutions.
