Partnerships with banks have broadened the options.. «Housing Ministry»:
The Director of Housing Finance Department at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Iman Al-Abbasi, revealed that about 17,000 Bahraini families have benefited from housing finance programs since August 2022 until now, stressing that the partnership with the financing banks has contributed to providing more diverse and flexible solutions for citizens.
In an interview with Bahrain TV, she said that citizens now have a wider range of options that enable them to choose housing that suits their needs and capabilities, instead of being tied to a single housing option. She explained that financing programs allow the purchase of a ready-made housing unit or land, in addition to other options that vary according to each program and in accordance with the beneficiary’s financial ability.
She emphasized that this approach is part of the ministry’s efforts to expedite citizens’ access to housing solutions and enhance their ability to choose the solution that best meets their needs and priorities.
Al-Abbasi explained that experience has demonstrated the effectiveness of partnerships with financing banks in expanding the options available to citizens and leveraging the resources of the private sector and the expertise of the banking sector to provide diverse financing solutions.
She added that the ministry, in cooperation with the Housing Bank and participating banks, is continuously developing financing programs to provide greater flexibility and allow citizens to compare offers and choose the most suitable one.
She emphasized that the partnership between the public and banking sectors has also contributed to accelerating access to housing finance and has given citizens more scope to research, choose, and make decisions based on their needs and capabilities.
The television interview addressed the tenth edition of the “Mobile Housing Finance Branch” initiative, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in cooperation with the Housing Bank.
Al-Abbasi stated that the initiative’s tenth edition reflects a commitment to strengthening direct communication with citizens and bringing housing and financing services and solutions closer to them in various locations.
She stated that branch visitors will be able to learn more about several housing finance programs, most notably the “Tasheel” financing program with its various categories, the “Tasheel+” financing program, and the “Tumooh” program.
Regarding the “Baiti” online platform, Al-Abbasi explained that it represents a crucial tool complementing the housing finance system, bringing together in one place a wide range of real estate options available across the Kingdom’s governorates, including villas, apartments, and land.
