The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the adoption of a new regulatory measure to automatically renew eligibility certificates for housing finance for an additional period of three months. This applies to all certificates that expired during March and April of the current year, without requiring beneficiaries to take any action or visit any service centers.
The Ministry explained that this regulatory measure comes as part of its commitment to further enhancing procedural flexibility and facilitating the completion of housing finance requirements for beneficiaries—particularly in light of the current exceptional circumstances. This ensures continuity of processes and enables beneficiaries to access housing finance services smoothly and efficiently, even if their certificates expired during this period.
The Ministry confirmed that this measure covers several key financing programs, including “Tas’heel” (in its various types), “Tas’heel Plus,” and “Mazaya” (both categories), which are among the immediate options provided to support citizens in home ownership through subsidized and accessible financing solutions.
It also noted that the automatic extension will give beneficiaries sufficient additional time to complete procedures related to selecting housing units or fulfilling the requirements of financing entities. This, in turn, enhances the effectiveness of housing programs and reduces potential procedural challenges faced by citizens.
The Ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to simplifying services, adopting digital solutions, and implementing proactive measures that place citizens’ needs at the center of development efforts. It also reaffirmed its ongoing work to review and update policies and procedures in line with best practices and evolving circumstances.
